this is a PROPOSED budget, alotguhh some things are set in stone when, and I found this highly commendable, employees where released early so they could get a head start on finding new employment. Much better than as we say in the Comptroller world the death march to the end of a Fiscal Year. I like to think too more citizens would be involved having only three of us speak at the first Public Hearing on the Budget (two of them spoke on the Musuem) in a room with at least 20 people, sort of reflects par for the course, I guess. Maybe more will come forth on April 19th after Mark Up is done. Of course, I would not know if the Council's e-mail boxes are getting filled with comments.As I have said (and written), overall I don't attend work sessions as budgets are second nature to me with too many of them under my belt at many levels. PRTC work session was important, and next Wednesday's session on nonprofits is also important (8:00 p.m. March 24th Public Works Conference Room). Now that one will be interesting to see who shows up!Cindy, the lobby is undergoing renovation. I too miss the nice display case that highlighted various things in the City .and personally think once the lobby is done being renovated, some form of a case be returned. Neighborhood Services, Finance, and other Departments have received some nice awards and should be displayed to Visitors in the lobby. Why should I have to go to a particular department or step in an office to see them? Let's show the great side of our City by returning an awards case!!!!!
